A little history of the home. This home was built the year the Wright Brothers flew the first airplane (1903). It was one of two homes in the meadow that would become part of what is now downtown Murfreesboro. The other home was the Crichlow home located on the corner of Spring St. and Bell. The Crichlow home is older (built in the 1850s) but those were the only two homes at that time. During World War II, this home was used to house male MTSU students. Prior to the current owner, it was owned by a local ice cream shop proprietor. The current owner is a retired local artist and her late husband was a professor at MTSU.

Not in the historic district.
